sweet changes

I got a “real” job, y’all. Monday to Friday, 8 hours a day.

Now why would I go and do that?

Many reasons. Politically, we have been on the housing list for our rez since we moved home from Vancouver (two years ago) but there has been no movement at all. Band Housing funds are always low, and our reserve is no exception. I don’t even know a timeline of when we are possibly talking about “maybe” getting a house on-reserve. So while living with my ‘rents has been awesome, especially this first year of having my baby, I feel that my family and I need a change.

Which leads me to this job.

It will eventually be based out of Saskatoon, which means we’ll be city-folk by end of summer.

What does this mean for sweetmoon?

I’m officially part-time. Some evenings, some weekends. Dates are restricted. I will post in advance, usually at the start of each month, what dates I have open and where I’ll be. I’m still open for grads, teens, families, weddings, no worries there. Contact me and we’ll chat, always.

I’m still a photographer. Your northern photographer. I’m still gonna be home at least twice a month. I’m still available for special events.

I’m just taking this year and working in the real world, trying out something new for my family.

Let’s see how it goes.
