What is your photography style?
I’m into light, clean and modern photography. I like images that have a mix of candid, editorial and formal portraits. It’s a good mixture sure to suit you, your friends and your family.
How does the session work?
The actual session is usually an hour long (depending on what package you choose). I will meet you at a location that is chosen in our pre-consult. You must be dressed and have your hair/make-up/tux all ready. Usually, I have you and your escort jump in my vehicle and we drive, I play music, and we shoot at a few different locations. This is to get you as much variety as possible in your images. I like to direct you a bit, as everyone is slightly awkward those first few moments in front of a camera. Towards the end, you will be a pro and be uber-comfortable in front of the lens.
Why don’t you shoot on Grad Day?
I want to give you the best images I possibly can. That means using every advantage I can. The best light is in the early am and in the late afternoon. I choose times for our session based on the natural light, and usually, on Grad Days, being ready for a 6AM shoot is just not viable. And by 7 PM, you are having way too much at the dance, or the party, or the supper, or your hair is messed up, or your dress is wrinkly, or your family is stressing… and so on.
By shooting the week of Grad, this gives you a chance to try on your dress, to do a trial run of your hair and make-up, and to relax and have fun in front of the camera, without worrying about where you have to be, what you have to do, etc.
What if it rains, gets real windy, no sun, etc?
I usually have a back-up location, depending on the weather. Honestly though, if you are game for some pretty awesome images in the rain, that would be great. As for wind or lack of sun, that is fine. I know enough places to shoot in that you will look great, no matter what.
Lightning though… yeah, we will set up “rain date” – a date chosen in case we get rained out, rained out meaning massive thunderstorm and scary-looking tornado clouds.
I live outside of Saskatoon/Beauval. Are you able to travel?
I can travel, yes. I charge mileage at .50/km, round trip, based from the closest location from either Saskatoon or Beauval (my two home bases) . Of course, I find that clients are usually very willing to come to Saskatoon, as it’s a fun getaway.
What are your prices?
Grad Session packages start at $300 plus taxes. Mileage will also apply if outside of Saskatoon. Please email me at sweetmoonphotography@gmail.com so I can send you the pricing info. Be sure to include your Grad Date and what day you are thinking would be a great time to shoot.
