Sam’s mom had called me up a few days prior to this shoot. Sam needed some headshots and some very specific images for a few things in her life, and she was all about promoting aboriginal talent, especially from the North. I fit the bill and it seemed like a fun thing to try, so we booked.
I met Sam and she was shy at first but that quickly wore off once she got in front of the camera. The girl is a force – she has such a personality, a quick grin and best of all, a sense of humour. She was happy and energetic and cracking jokes and once she started cartwheeling, I became her instant fan. Anyone who can cartwheel and throw themselves around in the air for fun is my kind of girl.
