Nadya // Headshots

We all know Nadya Kwandibens from Red Works Photography… and if you don’t, you should.

Nadya is a freaking trailblazer. When I started shooting, she was an established force, already capturing our beautiful Indigenous people in their homes, communities, events, urban environment. Over the years, she has continued to inspire me, and now, I’m glad to call her a friend. There is nothing better than talking shop with an Indigenous woman who just gets you. We is all about that lateral love and raising our people up.

When I was in Toronto, we made plans for some updated headshots while I was staying in the boujiest Airbnb. That crushed red velvet couch tho. She also showed me Graffiti Alley and my urban-loving heart swooned a little. In between the laughter and the stoic gazes she gave me, we got some magic happening, and I can’t wait for my turn in front of the lens.
