Kathleen and Dustin // Wedding

I was really looking forward to this wedding. Kathleen is family – as in her cousins are some of my best friends, and she is such a creative and intellectual soul that I was like “you are now my friend too. Done.” So when she and Dustin asked that I come photograph their wedding, I was already planning on staying for the dance, ha.

And on a beautiful day in August, their friends and family gathered, celebrating a relationship that was full of compassion. Caring and joy. They married at FNUC in Regina, had a blanket ceremony, and danced the night away to a live band. I have never seen so many people know these kind of dances before, and it was beautiful and fun and felt like the old family gatherings, full of good food and good stories.

So proud to have been a part of their day.

**Also, shout out to Kathleen for making me realize that I had totally gendered my photographs of bridesmaids and it was her who suggested/called me in about having powerful femme portraits as well. Shooketh and learned. She changed a small part of my game, and I am ever grateful.
