Brigid & James // wedding

Brigid and I go way back, back to 2002. I drove a red ’84 Camaro named Lucy that had to be boosted every few weeks, and Brigid was the sister to my new friend, Caitlin. I slowly integrated myself into their home – they always had oranges and tea around, which as swell. Brigid’s parents, Auntie Colleen and Uncle Don, because a safe haven for me, when I was missing my own home and family. I don’t know if their family knew how important they were to me even staying in school at that time. Since then, Brigid has consistently amazed me with how giving she is, how strong her faith carries her, and how inherently good she is. She is one of those people who make you better just for knowing them. So when she went away over the pond to study her PhD and came back with a fabulous education, life experience and a sweetie who speaks like Harry Potter, I wasn’t surprised. James is as sweet and quietly confident as she is, and hanging out with the two of them is always a pleasure. So when she asked – and I may have insisted upon – that I photograph her quiet, intimate wedding with James, I was so happy. It’s one of my favourite weddings – I may have teared up behind my camera.
