I first met Poitrina through her custom jewelry line, Fashionable Feathers. She supplied me with some pieces for a shoot I did with my niece, Dakota, last Fall. She absolutely intrigued me with her casual grace and style, and her enthusiasm for creativity and life. She’s like a happy little cracker-jack, if that makes any sense. We kept in touch through Facebook and when she started to instagram and blog her outfits, I really wanted to work with her again. Anyone who has that love for fashion and is willing to experiment, to style, to play so much, that’s my kind of girl.
And any girl who can rock her mocs anddd her four inch stilettos, that’s an Indian I wanna know.
Of course, as with any creative session, there had to be a challenge. My challenges were that it was an indoor session, all natural light. We used three locations inside the house and played with lenses and poses to get a variety of looks. Poitrina’s challenge was to showcase as much outfits as we could. We would change an accessory, add a jacket, switch heels, change hair every few images, just to add something new.
And when she showed me her “closet” – I was like, whhoooaaaaa. That’s a lot of shoes.
