Auntie Millie has always watched out for me. She’s my dad’s sister, and my Dad’s family is loud and wild and extensive, but very family-oriented. So when I was living in Vancouver and she would travel there for her own work conferances, she would often take me out to fancy dinners and slip me Starbucks gifts cards during our visits. She knew my life as a student in the most expensive city in Canada could not be easy. Then as I developed my business and continued going to school, she was always there to support sweetmoon or ask about my studies. It was those little things that showed me she cared, and wished the best for me.
During the holidays, my cousin Lana was in town – her youngest daughter currently studying law in New Zealand – and Auntie mentioned she didn’t get a picture of them all together. We managed to gather everyone in Saskatoon for a quick session before Lana had to head back. It was funny that I had photographed everyone in her family at least twice – Jim’s model life, Tara’s music, Lana’s bff session – but we had never managed to photograph them all together. So as the sun set, and I made them take off their coats – as usual – we laughed and ran and they cuddled in between takes to stay warm. It was a small way to say thank you to my Auntie for all the support, and a great way to start the New Year.
❤️❤️❤️
Awesome pics 🙂
Wow
Stunning
Please know that Lana is loved by all who are lucky to know her, here in New Zealand, and that she has been whanagi (adopted) by at least one Maori whanau (family) that I am aware of. She’s graces all with her inner peace and sense of self, and her lana crazy styles. She’s awesome.
