Jody has been been inviting me up to her family’s cabin on Ile a la Crosse Lake for years. I have always resisted, as I’m lazy and bugs scare me. Finally, after twisting my little heart with the idea of a small session of my goddaughter Hannah at the lake, I gave in.
I’m so glad I did.
The cabin is such a relaxing place, filled with kids running wild and the smoke of many campfires. There was BBQ ribs, steak, stuffed mushrooms, corn on the cob, cool drinks and mosquito repellant everywhere. There was the laughter of kids swimming down by the lake, the vroooom of four-wheelers as they drove on by, and the calm serenity of a place well loved. Hannah was in her element. A bush baby, at home with the bugs and the play. It was such a sweet time in her life to capture, these lazy summer days by the lakeside.
Hannah also wanted to include her friend Emma in a few shots.
