Sometimes it’s hard for us to see just how much of a boss our kids can be. How much we revolve our life around them, how much time we spend just looking at them, even when they aren’t do anything at all… but being. And I used to worry about that, about how bossy my kid is and how much attention I gave them and if I spoiled them and then I realized that doesn’t even matter. I just have to love them. Love them fiercely, in whatever form that is shown.
Because I looked at Dana, one of the strongest women I know, who is raising her child and family and doing it with the same casual effectiveness that I aspire to, that I find a lot of northern women have. Reagan is strong and curious and polite and funny and Dana is the perfect guiding point for him, as she is calm, firm and takes joy in the everyday of being a mom. Randy, like all Northern men, is blessed to be with such a woman, and he is silent and helpful and just there, a rock for their family.
I had so much fun with this family.
