brianna, grad 2012 // teens

Brianna was the one who fought me tooth and nail about her session. I say that with love. We rescheduled twice until finally, I found her and said, “Look, we are doing our session on this day at this time. Be there.”

Direct confrontation was best.

I really wanted her to do this because it’s such a poignant moment of our lives. Grad. Sure, we can scoff at it, say it isn’t that big of a deal, but it is. It’s about an accomplishment that many from the North struggle to see. I’s about transition. It’s about shedding the years of high school and turning into the adult you are meant to be.

It’s about wearing a hot pink dress.
